Monday's postcard, the beautiful fury of the Devil's Toenail, and other favorites

This week’s posting schedule is going to be impromptu and sporadic, as I’ll be traveling to Seattle where you expect to find me at the Patagonia store, Wednesday night, at an event organized by my friends at Hanford Challenge and the Patagonia folks. I have stories to tell, and slides and photographs to share, all for a good cause. And Beautiful Wounds will be available for purchase on site. So I hope to see you there, but if that fails, please let your friends and relatives in the Seattle area know. The doors open at Patagonia at 6 p.m.
I’m traveling with my technology kit, but also with some actual photographs, on metal, that should fit in my luggage. Two of them will be part of the event, and the other two I just really like, and hope you’ll like them too and think about taking them home with you.
A Point of Defiance (gnarly basalt palisade in the Drumheller Channels)
High Tide at Beach 4 (from the gnarly shoreline at Olympic National Park)
Storm Tracks (south of Lamont, WA)
Dance of the Shooting Stars
Finally, and tying back to the video from the Devil’s Toenail, above, here’s a still photo, photographed from a summer foray into the river in early summer.
